Panasonic 700 Tips

* LCD Display–video resolution/frame rate (Make sure this is set to “HE1920″ NOT “1080/60p.” If it is set incorrectly, push and hold the 1080 60p button on the left side of the camera to remove this setting.)

* MENU–”Media Select” Sets where your footage will be saved “SD CARD” or “Built-in Memory.” I recommend saving to SD CARDS so that you keep track of all your footage.

* MENU–”Setup” Before you start shooting on a new SD card, scroll up twice and select “FORMAT MEDIA,” then select “SD CARD.” Please note that formatting your SD CARD will ERASE any previous content on the card.

* LCD–Touch Screen Focus vs. Auto Focus

* Use Prism video converter to convert the .mts files from the camera to either .mov (mac) or .wmv (pc).

Using Prism to convert for mac:
Once you download the application you do the following:
Open Prism
Insert SD card
iMovie will automatically pop up and you can import the videos via prism into iMovie and it converts them into the program immediately.

Remember to have prism open first and then insert SD card.

AUDIO EXTRACTION
iMovie08:
To extract audio from one video clip and play it over a separate video clip, hold down the apple (command) and shift keys and drag the clip with the audio you want and place it over the video clip you'd like to add it to.

If you are using iMovie HD and you would like to change the speed of your video clip or reverse it, here is a link to a tutorial on that video effect.
